Reconstitution & Solubility Guide
Because Hexarelin contains hydrophobic aromatic residues (Trp, Phe) along with basic residues (His, Lys, C-terminal amide), following proper reconstitution protocol is critical to prevent aggregation and maintain biological integrity:
Theoretical Isoelectric Point (pI): ~10.2. In neutral to slightly acidic environments (pH < 7.0), Hexarelin carries a net positive charge, which favors dissolution.
Recommended Solvents:
Sterile Deionized / Bacteriostatic Water: Soluble up to ≥ 10 mg/mL. For standard biological testing, sterile deionized water is the preferred primary solvent.
Dilute Acetic Acid (0.1% – 1% v/v): If slight turbidity occurs at higher concentrations, adding a small volume of 0.1% sterile acetic acid facilitates complete dissolution before buffering.
Phosphate Buffered Saline (PBS, pH 7.4): Avoid direct dissolution in concentrated PBS to prevent micro-precipitation. Dissolve first in sterile water or a low-salt buffer before gently diluting into saline/PBS.
DMSO / Organic Solvents: Highly soluble in DMSO (≥ 25 mg/mL) for organic assay stock solutions.
Handling & Storage Recommendations:
Lyophilized Powder: Store at -20°C desiccated. Stable for at least 24 months from the manufacturing date.
Reconstituted Solution: Aliquot into single-use polypropylene tubes to prevent repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Store at -20°C for up to 3 months, or -80°C for long-term storage.
